Wikipedia rather incompletely defines a fucking machine as: “a mechanical device used to simulate sexual intercourse”.  Perhaps it would be a little more accurate to say: “a mechanical device used to simulate the penetrating partner during sexual intercourse”.

The first known type of sex machine was invented purely for medical reasons.
